Reference: u9h1tljsfsu6msf31iwu

We are seeking a Construction Storm Water Field Specialist to support the effective implementation, inspection, and maintenance of storm water management controls across active construction sites. This role is suited to a practical, observant professional who understands construction environments, environmental compliance, and the importance of preventing sediment, erosion, and polluted runoff from leaving a site.

Key responsibilities will include conducting routine and post-weather inspections of erosion and sediment control measures; identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions; documenting site conditions through reports, photographs, checklists, and digital records; and working closely with construction supervisors, contractors, engineers, and environmental representatives to ensure issues are addressed promptly. You will monitor the installation, maintenance, and removal of controls such as silt fencing, sediment basins, inlet protection, check dams, diversion drains, stabilised site entrances, and related drainage measures. The role may also involve collecting field observations, supporting compliance audits, tracking corrective actions, assisting with permit requirements, and responding to storm events or environmental incidents.

Applicants should have experience in construction inspection, environmental monitoring, civil works, storm water management, or a related field. A sound understanding of erosion and sediment control principles, construction site practices, and relevant environmental legislation or permit conditions is highly desirable. You will need strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to raise non-compliance issues professionally. The ability to work independently outdoors in changing weather conditions, travel between sites, use mobile reporting systems, and safely access uneven or active construction areas is essential. A relevant qualification, industry certification, current driver’s licence, and construction safety training will be advantageous. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to responsible construction practices and the protection of surrounding waterways and communities.
