Water/Wastewater Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, risk and resources while ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual, regulatory and environmental requirements.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary design, construction and commissioning activities, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, regulators and internal teams. Key responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining project plans, budgets, forecasts and progress reports; monitoring performance against milestones; managing change control, commercial issues and project risks; and ensuring accurate project documentation. You will provide clear leadership to project teams, chair progress meetings, resolve technical and delivery challenges, and promote effective communication across all stakeholders. The role will also require close attention to health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout each project phase.

Applicants should have substantial project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or related infrastructure sectors, with a strong understanding of treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations or associated assets. A recognised project management, engineering or construction qualification is desirable, together with experience managing contractor relationships, budgets and programmes on complex projects. You should be commercially aware, highly organised and confident interpreting technical information, contracts and performance data. Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure. Experience with relevant project management tools, construction regulations and industry standards would be advantageous.
