Reporting to the Superintendent, you will help provide strategic direction across schools and departments, promote high standards of teaching and learning, and ensure that students receive equitable opportunities to succeed. This role requires a collaborative leader who can build strong relationships with educators, families, community partners, and administrative teams.
Key responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of district priorities, policies, improvement plans, and performance objectives. You will monitor educational programs and student outcomes, review data to identify areas for improvement, and help ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and accreditation requirements. The Assistant Superintendent will also provide guidance to principals and school leaders, contribute to staffing and resource decisions, assist with budget planning, and support professional learning initiatives. Additional duties may include coordinating district-wide projects, responding to operational or community concerns, preparing reports and presentations, and representing the Superintendent when required.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant master's degree and possess appropriate certification or eligibility for certification in educational administration, together with significant leadership experience in a school or district setting. You should demonstrate sound knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, student support services, school improvement, and effective resource management. Strong communication, decision-making, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and lead change in a thoughtful, inclusive manner. Experience working with diverse communities and using data to inform strategic decisions is highly valued. A commitment to student achievement, equity, safeguarding, and positive school cultures is expected. The position may require travel between schools and attendance at evening meetings or community events.
