Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater Engineering

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of water and wastewater engineering projects from concept through to completion. This role will suit an experienced engineer who can combine strong technical knowledge with effective project coordination, stakeholder communication and commercial awareness. You will contribute to the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure projects that improve the reliability, efficiency and sustainability of essential water services.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and design documentation; coordinating multidisciplinary design activities; supporting hydraulic modelling and the assessment of water, wastewater and drainage systems; and assisting with the development of project scopes, programmes, cost estimates and procurement documentation. You will monitor project progress, quality, risks and budgets, provide technical advice to clients and project teams, and support construction activities through design reviews, site inspections, technical queries and resolution of engineering issues. You may also be involved in regulatory approvals, asset assessments, condition investigations and the preparation of business cases or options assessments.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, water or wastewater engineering, or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience in the planning, design or delivery of water infrastructure projects. Experience with water and wastewater networks, treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines or associated civil works is desirable. Familiarity with industry standards, relevant legislation, design software and project management processes will be highly regarded. You will be expected to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy. Professional registration or progress towards registration, along with a commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental outcomes, would be advantageous.
