Traveling Superintendent 1- Healthcare
Travelling Superintendent 1 – Healthcare
We are seeking an experienced Travelling Superintendent to support the successful delivery of healthcare construction projects across multiple locations. This role will suit a confident construction professional who can lead site operations, maintain high standards and build positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise day-to-day construction activities on live healthcare projects.
- Manage subcontractors, site operatives, deliveries, logistics and short-term programmes.
- Monitor progress against the project schedule, identifying risks, delays and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure works are completed safely, to the required quality standards and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, inspections, progress updates and workforce information.
- Coordinate with design, commercial and project management teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Support commissioning, snagging, handover and close-out activities.
- Promote a professional, respectful and safety-focused site culture at all times.
About you
You will have proven experience supervising construction projects, ideally within healthcare, hospitals, laboratories or other technically complex environments. Experience working in occupied or operational facilities would be advantageous, as would an understanding of infection control, stringent access requirements and the need to minimise disruption to building users.
You should be able to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes, communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving are essential.
Essential requirements
- Relevant experience in a Site Superintendent, Construction Manager or similar role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction best practice.
- Ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate multiple activities effectively.
- Proficiency with standard reporting and project management systems.
- Willingness to travel regularly and work away from home as project requirements dictate.
- Relevant site safety qualifications and a valid driving licence.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile healthcare developments while working within a supportive, delivery-focused project environment.
