Electrical foreman / Superintendent
Electrical Foreman / Superintendent
An experienced Electrical Foreman / Superintendent is required to lead and coordinate electrical installation activities across commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in line with project programmes.
You will supervise electrical teams and subcontractors on site, provide clear technical direction and act as a key point of contact between site management, engineering teams, suppliers and the wider workforce. The successful candidate will be confident managing multiple priorities and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Allocate labour, plant, materials and equipment to meet daily and weekly objectives.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, schedules and electrical design information.
- Monitor progress against the construction programme and report issues promptly.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulations and quality procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture, including toolbox talks, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Coordinate activities with other trades to minimise disruption, clashes and delays.
- Record site progress, materials usage, variations, permits and workforce information accurately.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging and handover activities.
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to electricians, apprentices and subcontractors.
About you
You will have substantial experience in electrical construction, with a proven background in a supervisory, foreman or superintendent position. A recognised electrical qualification, such as an NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent, is required, together with a sound understanding of current wiring regulations and site safety requirements.
Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills are essential. You should be organised, commercially aware and able to read technical documentation confidently. Relevant site safety training, supervisory certification and experience working on large-scale projects would be advantageous. A valid CSCS or ECS card, and the flexibility to work across active construction sites, are also expected.
