Assistant Project Manager – Pipe
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of pipework projects from planning through to completion. This role would suit an organised and motivated construction or engineering professional seeking to develop their project management experience within a technically focused environment.
Working alongside the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will assist with coordinating site activities, monitoring progress and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to help maintain clear communication and effective project control.
Key responsibilities
- Support the planning, programming and delivery of pipework projects.
- Assist with preparing project documentation, progress reports, risk assessments and method statements.
- Monitor project performance against programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, plant and labour to support efficient site operations.
- Attend site meetings and contribute to progress updates, action tracking and project reviews.
- Help identify project risks, delays and variations, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical information to ensure works are delivered correctly.
- Maintain accurate records, including site documentation, delivery notes, timesheets and completion information.
- Support commissioning, handover and close-out activities.
About you
You will have experience in a construction, mechanical engineering, utilities or industrial project environment, with a sound understanding of pipework installation and site-based delivery. Experience supporting projects involving process pipework, mechanical services or infrastructure would be advantageous.
Applicants should be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will need good commercial awareness, strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation. Competence with Microsoft Office and project reporting systems is expected.
A relevant qualification in engineering, construction or project management is desirable. The role may require travel to project sites, and a full driving licence would be beneficial. In return, you will have the opportunity to build valuable project management experience while contributing to the delivery of complex pipework projects.
