Project Engineer – Major Transport Infrastructure Programme

We are seeking a structured and collaborative Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major transport infrastructure programme in the Stockholm region. This is an opportunity to contribute to a complex project involving new road connections, tunnels, bridges and associated civil engineering works that will improve regional accessibility and long-term transport capacity.

Working as part of an experienced project team, you will help coordinate technical, commercial and operational activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with designers, contractors, consultants and public stakeholders, ensuring that project requirements are understood, documented and delivered to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the planning, coordination and follow-up of engineering activities across one or more project areas.
• Reviewing technical documentation, drawings, specifications, schedules and method statements.
• Monitoring progress, identifying risks and issues, and supporting the implementation of appropriate actions.
• Co-ordinating interfaces between disciplines, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Contributing to project meetings, technical workshops, inspections and progress reporting.
• Assisting with quality assurance, change management, cost control and compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining accurate project records and ensuring that decisions and requirements are clearly communicated.

About you

You have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction, infrastructure or a related discipline. Experience from large-scale infrastructure, road, tunnel, rail or civil engineering projects would be advantageous. You are comfortable working with technical information and can understand how different engineering disciplines interact within a complex delivery environment.

You are organised, analytical and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet agreed deadlines. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the confidence to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of Swedish construction standards, contract frameworks or public infrastructure delivery would be beneficial.
