We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead the planning, monitoring and reporting of complex projects from initiation through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who can provide robust controls, clear insight and effective challenge across project delivery teams.
You will establish and maintain project control processes, ensuring that scope, programme, cost, risk and change are managed consistently. Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, contractors and senior stakeholders, you will support informed decision-making and help drive successful delivery against agreed objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, control budgets and performance measurement systems.
- Monitor progress against approved baselines, identifying trends, variances, risks and opportunities.
- Produce accurate and timely cost, schedule and performance reports for project and leadership teams.
- Lead the review and management of change, ensuring impacts on time, cost and resources are clearly assessed.
- Coordinate risk and opportunity management, supporting mitigation planning and ongoing review.
- Provide guidance on forecasting, earned value, productivity and project performance analysis.
- Promote consistent project controls standards, processes and reporting across a portfolio of work.
- Support audits, governance reviews and project assurance activities when required.
About you
You will have proven experience in a project controls, planning, project management or cost engineering role, ideally within a complex construction, infrastructure, engineering or energy environment. A strong understanding of planning and cost control principles is essential, together with practical experience of using scheduling and reporting software.
You will be confident analysing large volumes of information, identifying emerging issues and presenting clear recommendations to a varied audience. Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills are required, alongside the ability to work independently and influence colleagues at all levels.
A relevant degree or professional qualification is desirable, as is experience with earned value management, contract administration or portfolio-level reporting. In return, you will receive the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects, develop your expertise and play a key role in strengthening delivery performance.
