Key responsibilities
- Lead land development projects through appraisal, planning, design, procurement, construction and completion.
- Prepare and manage project programmes, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, risk registers and performance reports.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, planners, environmental consultants, contractors and other professional advisers.
- Manage planning applications, technical approvals, infrastructure requirements, legal agreements and associated conditions.
- Appoint and oversee consultants and contractors, ensuring effective delivery, commercial control and compliance with agreed standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or cost pressures, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Build strong working relationships with landowners, local authorities, statutory bodies, community representatives and other stakeholders.
- Present recommendations, updates and investment papers to senior decision-makers.
- Promote best practice in health and safety, sustainability, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
About you
You will have substantial experience managing land development or property projects, ideally from inception through to delivery. A relevant degree or professional qualification in project management, construction, property, planning, engineering or a related discipline is desirable. Membership of a recognised professional body would be advantageous.
You should be confident interpreting technical, planning and commercial information, negotiating effectively and making sound decisions in a changing environment. Strong organisational skills, financial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Experience with development appraisals, infrastructure delivery and consultant procurement would be particularly valuable.
This role offers the opportunity to influence high-profile development projects and make a tangible contribution to successful, sustainable places.
