Traveling Superintendent - R. C. Stevens
Travelling Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Travelling Superintendent to oversee construction activities across multiple project sites. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a construction professional who can coordinate site operations, maintain high standards and travel regularly to support projects from mobilisation through to completion.
You will be responsible for ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements. Working closely with project managers, subcontractors, consultants and site teams, you will provide clear direction and resolve issues promptly in a fast-moving environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise day-to-day construction activities across assigned sites.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site personnel and specialist trades.
- Monitor progress against programme, identify risks and implement corrective action.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Inspect workmanship and materials to confirm compliance with project requirements.
- Attend site meetings and provide accurate updates on progress, resources and constraints.
- Assist with planning, mobilisation, logistics, handover and close-out activities.
- Maintain site records, reports, documentation and daily progress updates.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising construction projects, ideally across more than one location or within a travelling site-based position. A sound understanding of construction methods, sequencing, temporary works, quality control and site safety is essential. Experience working with subcontractors and managing competing priorities will be highly valued.
The successful candidate will be organised, decisive and confident communicating with people at all levels. You should be able to interpret technical drawings and project documentation, use sound judgement when resolving site issues and remain effective when working away from home. A relevant construction qualification, site safety certification and a full driving licence are desirable.
Regular travel and periods away from home will be required. In return, this opportunity offers varied project exposure, responsibility across multiple sites and the chance to make a visible contribution to successful project delivery.
