EWI are supporting a leading Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) manufacturer in the search for a HIAB Driver to support onshore wind farm construction and turbine installation activities in Sweden. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of HIAB-equipped vehicles and the transportation, loading, unloading, and relocation of materials and equipment across the project site.
Responsibilities
- Operate HIAB-equipped vehicles safely and efficiently across the wind farm project site.
- Transport turbine components, materials, and equipment between compounds, hardstands, and work locations.
- Load, unload, and relocate containers, tools, equipment, and project materials as required.
- Support the transportation and installation of turbine-related components, including coolers, spinners, generators, switchgear units, and MV cables.
- Relocate frames, concrete blocks, bog mats, and other logistical equipment across the site.
- Assist with loading operations and preparation of materials for backloading and site demobilisation.
- Assemble and disassemble lifting and securing systems where required.
- Support general site logistics activities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report any defects.
- Maintain compliance with all site HSE procedures and traffic management requirements.
- Assist with general site housekeeping and material management activities.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class C (or equivalent EU Heavy Goods Vehicle) driving licence.
- HIAB / lorry loader crane certification and practical operating experience.
- Previous experience working on wind farm, construction, heavy transport, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Demonstrable training and experience relevant to HIAB and lifting operations.
- Good understanding of safe lifting, load securing, and transport procedures.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site logistics team.
- Good English communication skills.
- Willingness to work on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation.
- Valid right to work within the European Union is required.
