Pipefitter Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter Superintendent to lead piping activities across industrial construction, maintenance, or shutdown projects. The successful candidate will supervise field operations, coordinate work fronts, and ensure that all piping installation, fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This role will involve close collaboration with project management, engineering, quality, safety, procurement, and subcontractor teams to maintain progress against schedule and budget.
Key responsibilities include planning daily and weekly activities, allocating labour and equipment, reviewing drawings and specifications, and coordinating the installation of process piping, utility systems, supports, valves, and associated components. You will monitor productivity, inspect workmanship, resolve technical and site-based issues, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved procedures, codes, and inspection requirements. The role will also involve coordinating material availability, tracking progress, supporting quantity and productivity reporting, and participating in toolbox talks, coordination meetings, inspections, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement, and handover activities. You will be expected to identify potential delays or risks early and implement practical solutions in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Applicants should have substantial experience in pipefitting or piping supervision, including previous experience leading crews on large-scale industrial, energy, infrastructure, or commercial projects. A strong understanding of piping systems, fabrication and installation methods, isometric drawings, specifications, welding interfaces, testing requirements, and construction sequencing is essential. Candidates must demonstrate effective leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, together with a firm commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Relevant trade qualifications, technical certifications, and formal supervisory training are advantageous. The ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and maintain accurate records is required. A valid safety qualification and any project-specific medical, security, or site access requirements may also apply.
