Project Superintendent
Project Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and timely delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising teams and ensuring that work is completed to the required quality, cost and programme standards.
You will act as the key point of contact on site, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives. The successful candidate will bring strong operational judgement, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to resolving challenges in a demanding project environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely and in accordance with approved plans.
- Supervise employees, subcontractors and specialist contractors, allocating resources and monitoring performance.
- Review construction schedules, identify potential delays and implement practical corrective actions.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality across all activities.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, deliveries, logistics and access arrangements.
- Monitor progress against programme, budget and technical requirements, providing regular updates to project leadership.
- Investigate site issues, manage change effectively and support the resolution of technical or commercial queries.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, site instructions, progress documentation and incident reports.
- Promote a positive culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
About you
You will have substantial experience in a site supervision or project delivery role, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy or a related industry. A recognised trade, technical or construction qualification is desirable, along with relevant health and safety training.
You should be confident interpreting drawings, specifications, method statements and programmes, and be comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential. Experience managing subcontractors and working on complex or multidisciplinary projects will be highly valued.
This role may involve travel, varied working hours and working in challenging site conditions. In return, you will have the opportunity to contribute to significant projects while developing your career within a supportive and professional environment.
