Project Planner
We are seeking an organised and proactive Project Planner to support the successful planning and delivery of complex projects from initial development through to completion. In this role, you will create, maintain and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring that activities, milestones, dependencies, resources and deadlines are accurately recorded and regularly updated. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to establish realistic programmes and provide clear visibility of progress, risks and emerging issues.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring performance against approved plans, analysing schedule variances and preparing regular progress reports for project meetings and senior management. You will identify potential delays, assess their impact on delivery, and work with relevant teams to develop effective recovery plans. You will also support change control by evaluating the programme implications of scope changes, coordinating updates and ensuring that agreed revisions are reflected in the overall project schedule. Maintaining accurate records, producing look-ahead programmes and contributing to forecasting and resource planning will be key elements of the role.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in project planning, project controls or a similar scheduling position, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing or another project-based environment. You should be confident using planning and scheduling software, with strong working knowledge of tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent systems. Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, together with the ability to interpret complex information and present it clearly to different audiences. You will be comfortable working to deadlines, managing competing priorities and collaborating across multiple teams. A relevant qualification in project management, engineering, construction or a related discipline would be advantageous, as would experience with risk management, earned value analysis or cost and programme integration.
