Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Water/Wastewater to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure, treatment, network, and utility projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, health and safety, environmental performance, and stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams. You will coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project execution plans, programmes, risk registers, budgets, procurement strategies, and reporting processes. You will monitor progress, identify and resolve commercial, technical, and operational issues, and implement appropriate mitigation measures. The role will also involve reviewing designs and specifications, managing change control, supporting tendering and contract administration, and ensuring that construction and commissioning activities meet required standards. Building effective relationships with stakeholders, leading project meetings, and providing clear progress updates to senior management will be central to the position.

Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or related infrastructure sectors, with a strong understanding of project delivery from design through construction and handover. A relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, construction, project management, or a similar discipline is desirable. You should be confident managing budgets, schedules, risks, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, with knowledge of relevant health and safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements. Strong communication, negotiation, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a demanding project environment. Experience with NEC or other construction contracts, formal project management methodologies, and industry-standard planning and reporting tools would be advantageous.
