We are seeking a Project Engineer to support water resources and civil infrastructure projects in Tallahassee, Florida. This role will contribute to the planning, design, permitting, and delivery of projects involving stormwater management, drainage systems, flood control, watershed planning, site development, and related water resources infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, surveyors, environmental specialists, public agencies, and clients to develop practical, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications; conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses; supporting drainage studies and water quality evaluations; reviewing survey and geotechnical information; and assisting with the preparation of construction documents. You will coordinate tasks and schedules, monitor project progress, participate in meetings, respond to technical questions, review contractor submittals, and provide construction-phase support as required. The role may also involve field visits, site inspections, data collection, and occasional travel throughout the region.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline, along with experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, or civil infrastructure design. Professional Engineer registration, or progress toward licensure, is preferred. Proficiency with engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS applications, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, and Microsoft Office is desirable. Strong technical writing, communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, together with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively. Knowledge of Florida water management requirements, permitting processes, stormwater regulations, and local or state design standards would be advantageous.
