We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and successful delivery of construction projects from mobilisation through to completion. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders on site.
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed to programme, specification and quality standards. You will lead site personnel and subcontractors, monitor progress, resolve issues promptly and maintain clear communication with project management, clients, consultants and suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily construction activities across the project.
- Develop and maintain short-term programmes, sequencing works to support project milestones.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, materials and plant, taking corrective action where required.
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, inspection requirements and relevant legislation.
- Promote a positive safety culture and enforce site health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Lead toolbox talks, site meetings and coordination sessions with project stakeholders.
- Review subcontractor performance, manage interfaces and support the resolution of technical or logistical challenges.
- Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, site instructions, inspections and daily diaries.
- Support commissioning, handover and close-out activities, ensuring outstanding works are completed to the required standard.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising construction projects, ideally within a complex commercial, industrial, civil engineering or infrastructure environment. A recognised construction, engineering or trade qualification would be advantageous, alongside a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and quality control.
You should be confident leading teams, managing competing priorities and making sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors and clients.
A strong commitment to health and safety is required. Relevant site safety training and supervisory certifications will be valued. This role may involve working across active construction sites and occasional travel, with flexibility required to meet project demands.
