- Develop value engineering proposals and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
- Coordinate design, planning, procurement and construction input during the preconstruction phase.
- Prepare tender programmes, preliminaries, exclusions, clarifications and commercial qualifications.
- Present estimates and tender strategies to senior management and support final negotiations.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and contribute to the continuous improvement of preconstruction processes.
- Support the handover of successful projects to the delivery team, ensuring all commercial and technical information is clearly communicated.
About you
You will have proven experience in estimating and preconstruction within the construction or building services sector, with a strong understanding of construction methods, procurement routes, subcontractor packages and contract documentation. Experience managing tenders from £1 million upwards would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, numerical and communication skills are essential, together with confidence using estimating software and Microsoft Office. You should be commercially astute, detail-focused and capable of building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels. A relevant construction, quantity surveying or commercial qualification is desirable, although substantial practical experience will also be considered.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional seeking a varied role with responsibility, influence and scope for career development.
