Estimator / Project Manager – Drywall and Plastering

An experienced Estimator / Project Manager is sought to join a busy specialist construction subcontractor delivering drywall, plastering and interior finishing packages across commercial, residential and refurbishment projects. This is a varied role, combining accurate tender preparation with the effective management of projects from initial enquiry through to completion.

You will review drawings, specifications and schedules to develop competitive, detailed estimates, while identifying risks, exclusions and potential opportunities. Following appointment, you will oversee the delivery of multiple projects, coordinating labour, materials, subcontractors and site activities to ensure work is completed safely, on programme and to the required standard.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing accurate quotations, tenders, cost plans and variations for drywall, plasterboard, metal framing, suspended ceilings and plastering works.
  • Analysing drawings, scopes of work and specifications, including taking off quantities and obtaining supplier quotations.
  • Managing projects from pre-start through to practical completion, ensuring programme, quality and commercial targets are achieved.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with main contractors, clients, suppliers and site teams.
  • Preparing project documentation, procurement schedules, progress reports and applications for payment.
  • Monitoring costs, labour, materials, variations and contractual obligations, taking prompt action where issues arise.
  • Attending site meetings, conducting regular inspections and supporting the resolution of technical or operational queries.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and promoting high standards of workmanship.

About you

You will have proven estimating and project management experience within drywall, plastering, drylining or a closely related construction discipline. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing and subcontract packages is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings and work confidently with costs and commercial information.

Excellent communication, organisation and negotiation skills are required, alongside a practical, solutions-focused approach. Competence with estimating or construction software and Microsoft Office is expected. A relevant construction qualification or industry accreditation would be advantageous. In return, the role offers varied projects, professional development and the opportunity to make a visible contribution to successful project delivery.
