We are seeking a Collaborative Delivery Preconstruction Manager to lead the planning, coordination and commercial development of complex construction and infrastructure projects from early concept through to contract award. This role will work closely with clients, designers, consultants, specialist contractors and internal delivery teams to establish buildable, efficient and value-driven solutions. You will help shape projects at the earliest stages, ensuring that programme, cost, quality, safety, sustainability and risk are fully considered before construction begins.

Key responsibilities will include managing preconstruction activities across multiple projects; developing delivery strategies, construction methodologies, programmes and procurement plans; coordinating design development and constructability reviews; and identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency and improved project outcomes. You will lead tender preparation, oversee the production of estimates and cost plans, review contractor and supplier proposals, and support commercial negotiations through to appointment. The role will also involve maintaining risk and opportunity registers, monitoring design and cost changes, preparing reports for senior stakeholders, and ensuring that preconstruction information is accurate, coordinated and delivered to agreed timescales.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in preconstruction, estimating, design management, project management or a related construction discipline, ideally gained on complex or technically challenging projects. A strong understanding of construction methods, procurement routes, contract principles, health and safety requirements and design coordination is essential. You will be commercially aware, highly organised and confident working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders. Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills are required, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Relevant professional qualifications or membership of a recognised industry body would be advantageous. This is an opportunity to play a central role in developing high-quality project solutions and building strong, collaborative relationships from the outset.
