We are seeking an experienced Superintendent – Roadway to lead field operations on roadway construction and improvement projects. The successful candidate will oversee daily site activities, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This role requires a practical, organised leader who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in the field.

Key responsibilities include planning and supervising roadway, earthwork, drainage, paving, utility, and related civil construction activities; reviewing drawings, specifications, and work schedules; allocating labour, equipment, and materials; and monitoring productivity and progress against project milestones. You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and public agencies to resolve issues and maintain smooth project delivery. The role also involves conducting site inspections, enforcing health and safety procedures, maintaining accurate daily reports, tracking quantities and materials, identifying potential delays, and supporting cost control and change management. You will be expected to maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure environmental and regulatory requirements are met.

Candidates should have substantial experience supervising roadway or heavy civil construction projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods, site logistics, traffic control, grading, drainage, and paving operations. Proven ability to read and interpret plans, use scheduling and reporting tools, and lead diverse teams is essential. A relevant technical qualification or equivalent field experience is preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills are required, along with the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and adjust to changing project demands. A valid driving licence and any required site safety certifications may also be necessary.
