We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and wellbeing standards across a complex operational environment. This is a senior leadership role requiring a proactive professional who can provide strategic direction while remaining closely engaged with site-based activities, employees, contractors and operational teams.

Key responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining robust health and safety policies, procedures and management systems; ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards; and providing expert advice to senior leaders and managers. You will lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations, identifying trends and implementing effective corrective actions. The role will also involve monitoring performance against agreed objectives, preparing clear reports for leadership teams, managing health and safety improvement plans, and supporting emergency preparedness and business continuity arrangements. You will promote a positive safety culture through training, communication, engagement initiatives and visible leadership, while ensuring contractors and other third parties meet required standards.

Applicants should hold a recognised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent professional certification, and ideally be a member of a relevant professional body. You will have substantial experience in a senior health and safety position, preferably within a complex, regulated or multi-site environment. Strong knowledge of applicable legislation, risk management principles, accident prevention and occupational health is essential. The successful candidate will be confident influencing stakeholders at all levels, capable of translating technical requirements into practical solutions, and experienced in leading projects and developing high-performing teams. Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills are required, together with the integrity, judgement and resilience to challenge unsafe practices and drive measurable improvement.
