We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Treatment and Effluent Management (WTEM) Business Class Director to provide strategic leadership across wastewater treatment, effluent management and related environmental services. This senior role will be responsible for shaping business strategy, driving sustainable growth and ensuring the delivery of technically robust, commercially successful and compliant solutions for clients across public and private sectors.

Key responsibilities will include setting the direction for the WTEM business class; developing and maintaining strong client relationships; identifying market opportunities; overseeing bids, proposals and project development; and ensuring effective collaboration across technical, operational and commercial teams. You will provide leadership on complex wastewater and effluent management programmes, support the development of innovative and low-carbon solutions, and ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, environmental performance and financial control. The role will also involve mentoring and developing staff, building specialist capability, monitoring business performance and contributing to wider organisational strategy and governance.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in wastewater treatment, water quality, effluent management or a closely related environmental engineering discipline, together with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards and emerging technologies. A proven track record of business development, winning and delivering major projects, managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging with senior stakeholders is essential. You should combine sound commercial judgement with strong technical credibility, excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is required, and professional registration or membership of an appropriate industry body would be advantageous.
