We are seeking an experienced Water Lead to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of water-related projects and programmes. This role will be responsible for guiding the development and delivery of high-quality solutions spanning water resources, water supply, wastewater, drainage, flood risk, and related infrastructure. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders to define requirements, manage interfaces, and ensure that projects are delivered safely, sustainably, and in line with agreed objectives.

Key responsibilities will include leading technical teams, setting priorities, reviewing designs and reports, and providing clear professional guidance throughout the project lifecycle. You will contribute to project planning, scope development, cost and programme management, risk assessment, and quality assurance. The role will also involve identifying opportunities to improve processes, supporting business development activities, preparing proposals, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and delivery partners. You will be expected to promote best practice, consider climate resilience and environmental impacts, and ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, standards, and industry guidance.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in the water or environmental infrastructure sector, with a strong understanding of one or more relevant disciplines such as water resources, hydraulic modelling, wastewater, flood risk, asset management, or civil engineering. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is required, together with excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, programmes, and stakeholder relationships is essential. Professional registration or progress towards an appropriate professional qualification would be advantageous.
