Key responsibilities
- Manage projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring clear scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables.
- Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, risk registers, governance reports and monitoring information.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, external partners, contractors and service representatives to ensure effective delivery.
- Identify risks, issues and dependencies, putting appropriate mitigation and recovery actions in place.
- Lead meetings, workshops and consultations, communicating complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Monitor performance against agreed outcomes, timescales and financial controls, escalating concerns when required.
- Support service improvement, change management and the implementation of new processes, systems or operational arrangements.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, policies, procurement requirements, quality standards and health and safety procedures.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience of managing projects in a complex, customer-focused or public service environment. You should be confident working with budgets, performance information and formal reporting arrangements, with a strong understanding of project governance and risk management.
Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, together with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels. You will be analytical, pragmatic and solutions-focused, able to make sound decisions while maintaining attention to detail. Experience of delivering projects across multiple service areas, engaging communities or managing external suppliers would be advantageous.
