Water/Wastewater Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will involve managing programmes across water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs, and associated civil, mechanical, and electrical works. You will be responsible for defining project objectives, developing delivery plans, coordinating design and construction activities, and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, procurement, contracts, risks, and change control. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also require regular reporting on progress, performance, cost, and forecast outcomes, as well as identifying and resolving technical, commercial, programme, and operational issues. You will promote a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, specifications, and project procedures.
Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, or wider infrastructure sector, with a strong understanding of construction and engineering delivery. Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and working with NEC or other standard forms of contract is desirable. A relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering, construction, project management, or a related discipline would be advantageous. You should be commercially aware, highly organised, and confident managing competing priorities in a demanding environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships and lead teams towards shared objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality outcomes.
