We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate cost calculations and support the successful delivery of construction and engineering projects. In this role, you will analyse tender documents, drawings, specifications and project requirements to develop reliable estimates for materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors and associated services. You will contribute to bids from the initial review stage through to submission, ensuring that pricing is commercially sound, clearly documented and delivered within agreed deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations, identifying cost risks and opportunities, preparing bills of quantities and maintaining pricing data. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement specialists and other stakeholders to clarify scope, assess alternatives and ensure that estimates reflect the latest technical and commercial information. You may also be involved in reviewing variations, supporting contract negotiations, monitoring estimated versus actual costs and contributing to post-project analysis to improve future pricing accuracy.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in estimating, quantity surveying, cost control or a related construction and engineering discipline. You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications, analysing data and working with spreadsheets or estimating software. Strong numerical and analytical skills are essential, together with a structured approach and excellent attention to detail. The ability to communicate clearly, manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively across teams is equally important. Experience with tender preparation, procurement processes, subcontractor negotiations or a relevant technical qualification will be advantageous. You will be expected to work independently while taking initiative, asking the right questions and maintaining a high standard of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
