Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects from planning through to completion. This role is suited to someone with strong coordination skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors and suppliers. You will assist with maintaining project plans, coordinating activities, monitoring progress and ensuring that key milestones, deadlines and quality standards are achieved.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, you will help prepare schedules, meeting agendas, progress reports, risk registers and other project documentation. You will coordinate meetings, record actions and follow up on outstanding tasks, while helping to identify potential delays, issues and dependencies. The role will also involve supporting budget monitoring, reviewing project information, assisting with procurement and contractor coordination, and ensuring that records are accurate and maintained in line with relevant procedures. You may also contribute to client communications, project reviews and the preparation of updates for senior stakeholders.

Applicants should have experience in a project support, coordination or related administrative role, ideally within a structured or delivery-focused environment. A good understanding of project management principles, reporting processes and risk management would be advantageous. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational ability and confidence using Microsoft Office and project management systems. The successful candidate will be proactive, dependable and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The ability to work collaboratively, use initiative and respond positively to changing requirements is essential. Relevant project management qualifications or a willingness to work towards them would be welcomed.
