Commercial Construction Project Manager
Commercial Construction Project Manager
An experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager is required to lead the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and highly organised professional who can manage multiple stakeholders, maintain programme certainty and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will take responsibility for coordinating project teams, overseeing contractors and consultants, and ensuring that all commercial, operational and contractual objectives are achieved. The role will involve working closely with clients, design teams, site managers and supply chain partners to resolve issues, manage change and keep projects progressing in line with agreed budgets and timescales.
Key responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from initial planning and procurement through to practical completion and handover.
- Develop and monitor project programmes, budgets, cash flow forecasts and performance reports.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, subcontractors and internal project teams.
- Review designs, specifications, construction methods and project documentation.
- Monitor progress on site, identifying risks, delays and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment, final accounts and contractual matters.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to senior stakeholders and clients.
- Support procurement activities, tender evaluations and the appointment of suitable supply chain partners.
About you
You will have proven experience managing commercial construction projects, ideally across a range of sectors and project values. A strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, programming and risk management is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical information and make sound, timely decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills are required, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should be commercially astute, detail-focused and confident working under pressure while maintaining high professional standards. A relevant construction, project management or surveying qualification, alongside appropriate industry experience, would be advantageous.
