Project Manager, Repower
Project Manager, Repower
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to lead repowering projects from early development through to construction, commissioning and handover. The role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within agreed budgets.
Working across existing energy assets and new infrastructure, you will manage the replacement, upgrade or extension of equipment and associated balance-of-plant works. You will act as the central point of coordination for internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, suppliers, landowners and relevant authorities, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Manage repowering projects from feasibility and consenting through procurement, construction and operational handover.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, risk registers, procurement plans and reporting arrangements.
- Coordinate engineering, environmental, planning, commercial and construction activities across multiple workstreams.
- Lead contractor and consultant management, including tendering, contract administration, performance monitoring and change control.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Identify project risks and dependencies, implementing effective mitigation and escalation strategies.
- Provide clear progress updates, financial forecasts and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Support stakeholder engagement and contribute to planning applications, technical assessments and grid or network interface activities.
About you
You will have proven experience managing complex infrastructure, renewable energy, utilities or engineering projects, ideally including repowering, retrofit, refurbishment or major asset replacement. A relevant qualification in project management, engineering, construction or a related discipline is desirable, together with experience of managing budgets, schedules, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong commercial awareness, sound technical judgement and a practical understanding of project delivery methods are essential. You should be confident working independently, resolving challenges and presenting information clearly to a range of audiences. Excellent organisational, negotiation and communication skills are required, alongside a commitment to safe and sustainable delivery.
