We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our project team in Vaasa, Finland. This role will be responsible for supporting the environmental management of projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability objectives, and company standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of environmental management systems and processes across the project lifecycleEnsure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and project-specific requirementsMonitor environmental performance on site, including waste management, emissions, and resource usageConduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate environmental impactsCoordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote environmentally responsible practicesAssist in the development and implementation of environmental plans, including waste management and sustainability strategiesMonitor and report on environmental KPIs and performance metricsSupport incident investigations related to environmental issues and assist in implementing corrective actionsEnsure all environmental documentation and records are maintained and up to dateAttend Site Meetings, Environmental Meetings, and Project ReviewsAdvise site teams on environmental compliance and best practicesSupport initiatives to improve sustainability performance, including energy efficiency and waste reductionIdentify environmental risks and support their mitigation and resolution
Required Qualifications and Competencies:

We are seeking a Water Resources / Environmental Engineer to support the planning, design, assessment and delivery of projects involving water management, drainage, flood risk, environmental protection and sustainable infrastructure. This role will suit an engineer who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering safe, compliant and environmentally responsible outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include preparing hydrological and hydraulic assessments; developing drainage, stormwater and flood mitigation solutions; undertaking water quality, catchment and environmental impact investigations; and contributing to the design, documentation and construction support of civil and environmental works. You will analyse technical data, review existing infrastructure, prepare calculations, models, reports, drawings and specifications, and assist with approvals, permits and regulatory submissions. We are seeking an Environmental or Water/Wastewater Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, delivery and improvement of environmental and water infrastructure projects. This role would suit an engineer who is motivated by creating practical, sustainable solutions and enjoys working across a variety of technical and project environments. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, regulators and multidisciplinary teams to support projects from initial concept through to construction, commissioning and completion.
Key responsibilities will include preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, specifications, calculations, drawings and design documentation; undertaking investigations, assessments and site inspections; and contributing to the design of water, wastewater, drainage, treatment, remediation or broader environmental infrastructure.
