We are seeking a Senior Integrated Water Resource Planner / Engineer to lead complex water planning, resource management and infrastructure initiatives across a diverse portfolio. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise, strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills to support sustainable, resilient and cost-effective water outcomes. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from strategic assessment and options development through to implementation, monitoring and review.
Your responsibilities will include developing integrated water resource plans, demand and supply assessments, water balance models, drought and climate resilience strategies, and investment programs. You will undertake technical investigations, analyse hydrological and environmental data, prepare feasibility studies and business cases, and provide high-quality advice on water security, catchment management, infrastructure planning and regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to planning approvals, risk assessments, technical reports and submissions, while ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and professional best practice.
Working collaboratively with internal teams, government agencies, regulators, communities, Traditional Owners, consultants and other stakeholders, you will facilitate workshops, communicate complex information clearly and help build practical consensus around competing water needs. The successful candidate will hold a degree in water resources engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, water planning or a related discipline, with substantial experience in integrated water resource management or a comparable field. You will bring strong analytical, report-writing and project management capabilities, along with experience using water planning, modelling or spatial analysis tools. Knowledge of climate adaptation, urban or regional water systems, environmental water management and relevant regulatory frameworks will be highly regarded. A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to influence outcomes at a senior level are essential.
