You will develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, risk registers, and documentation; monitor progress against agreed milestones; and identify and resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues. The role will also involve appointing and managing contractors and consultants, reviewing work for compliance with drawings, specifications, regulations, and relevant standards, and providing clear progress updates to clients and stakeholders. You may also support planning applications, contract administration, site inspections, variations, valuations, and final account processes.

Applicants should hold a relevant qualification in surveying, project management, civil engineering, construction, or a related discipline, together with proven experience in a surveying and project delivery environment. Professional accreditation or progress toward chartered status would be advantageous. Strong knowledge of surveying methods, construction processes, contract procedures, health and safety requirements, and applicable legislation is expected. You will need excellent organisational, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency with surveying equipment, project management systems, CAD or other relevant technical software, and standard office applications is desirable. A full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites may be required.

Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day construction operations; reviewing programmes, drawings, specifications and scopes of work; coordinating trades and subcontractors; monitoring progress against milestones; and identifying potential delays, risks and cost impacts. You will support procurement and subcontractor engagement, review variations and claims, verify completed work, assist with forecasting and cost control, and maintain accurate project documentation. The role will also involve chairing site meetings, preparing progress reports, resolving construction issues, coordinating inspections and approvals, and ensuring all works comply with relevant legislation, permits, standards and project specifications.

Applicants should have substantial experience in commercial construction, with a proven record of supervising complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, utilities, and regulatory authorities, and provide clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include developing project execution plans, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, risk registers, and quality management processes. You will review technical deliverables, monitor progress and financial performance, manage change control, resolve project issues, and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, codes, permits, and health and safety requirements. The successful candidate will also support business development by contributing to proposals, fee estimates, client presentations, and the development of long-term client relationships. Where required, you will mentor project managers and technical staff, promote best practice, and help strengthen internal project delivery procedures.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water resources, or wastewater engineering, together with substantial experience managing water and wastewater projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, as is experience with treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, collection systems, water networks, or related infrastructure. Strong commercial, contractual, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and lead teams effectively. Experience with design-build, design-bid-build, or other collaborative delivery models will be advantageous.
