We are seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer I to support the planning, design, and delivery of water resources and civil engineering projects. This entry-level role is suited to an emerging professional who is eager to develop technical expertise while contributing to projects involving stormwater management, flood control, drainage, water supply, watershed planning, and related infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with engineers, scientists, surveyors, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to help deliver practical, sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities include assisting with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling; preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications; reviewing survey information and existing infrastructure data; supporting field investigations, inspections, and construction activities; and helping evaluate alternatives for drainage, flood mitigation, and water resources improvements. You will use computer-aided design, geographic information systems, spreadsheets, and industry-standard modelling software to analyse data and prepare project deliverables. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulics principles, stormwater design, engineering drawings, technical software, and applicable regulations is advantageous. Responsibilities will include leading multidisciplinary project teams from planning and feasibility through design, construction, and commissioning; reviewing technical work and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, budgets, and schedules; and serving as a senior advisor on water and wastewater infrastructure, treatment systems, collection and conveyance networks, asset management, and resilience. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or a related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is desirable. Professional registration as a Professional Engineer or equivalent is required, together with substantial experience delivering and managing water and wastewater projects and a strong record of client and team leadership. Expertise in relevant design standards, permitting requirements, project controls, and industry best practices is expected.
