We are seeking an accomplished Associate Vice President – Water/Wastewater to provide strategic leadership across a growing portfolio of water, wastewater, and water resources projects. This senior role will oversee technical delivery, client relationships, business development, and team performance while helping shape long-term growth within the practice. The successful candidate will work with public- and private-sector clients, utilities, municipalities, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities will include leading multidisciplinary project teams from planning and feasibility through design, construction, and commissioning; reviewing technical work and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, budgets, and schedules; and serving as a senior advisor on water and wastewater infrastructure, treatment systems, collection and conveyance networks, asset management, and resilience. You will support the preparation of proposals, fee estimates, pursuit strategies, and client presentations, while identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships and develop new business. The role will also involve mentoring staff, supporting resource planning, contributing to operational goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or a related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is desirable. Professional registration as a Professional Engineer or equivalent is required, together with substantial experience delivering and managing water and wastewater projects and a strong record of client and team leadership. Expertise in relevant design standards, permitting requirements, project controls, and industry best practices is expected. Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and commercial skills are essential, as is the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on technical and project oversight. Experience developing high-performing teams and managing complex programs will be highly valued.
