We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Lead to oversee the safe, efficient and compliant operation of wastewater treatment activities across a complex operational environment. This role will provide technical leadership to site teams, ensuring treatment systems perform reliably, environmental standards are maintained and operational risks are effectively managed. You will coordinate day-to-day activities, set clear priorities and support a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include supervising wastewater treatment processes, monitoring plant performance and reviewing operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement. You will lead investigations into process deviations, equipment failures and environmental incidents, implementing corrective and preventative actions where required. The role will also involve coordinating planned and reactive maintenance, managing contractors, supporting projects and ensuring accurate completion of operational records, reports and compliance documentation. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance, laboratory and environmental teams, providing practical advice and contributing to site improvement plans.

Applicants should have proven experience in wastewater treatment, water operations, process engineering or a closely related industrial environment, together with a strong understanding of environmental permitting, health and safety requirements and regulatory compliance. A relevant technical qualification is desirable, as is experience with biological treatment processes, effluent monitoring, sampling programmes and process control systems. You will be an organised and confident team leader with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and coach others to achieve high standards.
