We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex traffic and transport projects. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise across traffic impact assessments, transport planning studies, intersection analysis, road safety reviews, and traffic management planning. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, safe, and sustainable solutions for a range of urban development, infrastructure, and road network projects.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing traffic engineering reports, modelling traffic operations, analysing transport data, and developing concept and detailed designs for intersections, access arrangements, parking facilities, pedestrian networks, cycling infrastructure, and public transport interfaces. You will coordinate project deliverables, manage technical risks, contribute to planning and approval processes, and ensure work is completed to relevant legislation, standards, and professional requirements. The role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, reviewing technical work, supporting proposals, managing client relationships, and presenting recommendations to clients, authorities, and other stakeholders.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil engineering, transport engineering, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience in traffic or transport engineering. Professional registration or progress towards professional accreditation is desirable. You will need strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, road design standards, transport assessment methodologies, and relevant modelling or analytical software. Experience with tools such as SIDRA, VISSIM, LinSig, AutoCAD, or similar platforms will be advantageous. Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound commercial awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. You should be confident working independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. We are seeking a Traffic Engineer / Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer to support the planning, design, coordination and delivery of traffic management solutions for construction, maintenance and infrastructure projects. This role will suit a technically capable professional who can develop practical, safe and compliant traffic arrangements while working effectively with project teams, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders. Depending on experience, the successful candidate may lead complex assignments, provide technical guidance and contribute to the development of junior staff.

Key responsibilities include preparing traffic management plans, temporary traffic control designs, detour strategies, staging plans, traffic impact assessments and supporting documentation. You will review site conditions, assess traffic flows and risks, identify appropriate treatments, and ensure proposed arrangements meet relevant legislation, standards, permits and approval requirements. The role will also involve coordinating with clients, road authorities, emergency services, utilities and affected communities; attending site inspections and project meetings; responding to technical queries; reviewing contractor submissions; and monitoring implementation to ensure designs are delivered safely and effectively.

Applicants should hold a relevant degree or qualification in civil engineering, transport engineering, traffic engineering or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in traffic management, roadworks, detours or temporary works.
