Civil Project Engineer

We are seeking a capable and motivated Civil Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from design through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across technical, commercial and site-based activities while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and environmental performance.

You will work closely with project managers, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to coordinate construction activities and ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification. The role will involve reviewing drawings and technical information, supporting design development, monitoring progress and helping to resolve engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of civil engineering projects. Review designs, specifications, technical submissions and construction information. Provide engineering guidance to site teams and ensure works are completed in accordance with approved designs. Monitor project progress, programme performance, quality standards and resource requirements. Prepare and review technical reports, inspection records, risk assessments and method statements. Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to address technical and logistical issues. Support cost control, procurement activities, change management and progress reporting. Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all project activities. About you

You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering and have experience working on civil construction or infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards is essential. Experience with setting out, temporary works, earthworks, drainage, highways or structures would be advantageous.

You should be organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with people at all levels. The ability to interpret technical drawings, use relevant engineering software and manage competing priorities is important. A full UK driving licence may be required, depending on project location.

In return, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical and project management skills while contributing to challenging and varied civil engineering schemes.

This role will oversee projects from initial feasibility and business case development through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out, ensuring that programme objectives are achieved on time, within budget and to the required standards.

The successful candidate will manage a varied programme of infrastructure, property, facilities or asset improvement projects.
