We are seeking an Approved Wildlife Biologist to provide specialist ecological advice and support across a range of projects involving protected species, habitat management and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate and undertake wildlife surveys, prepare technical reports, assess potential impacts, and recommend practical mitigation and enhancement measures. The role will involve working across varied sites and landscapes, sometimes in challenging field conditions and outside standard working hours.

Key responsibilities will include conducting and overseeing surveys for protected and notable species; evaluating survey findings and ecological constraints; preparing licensing and mitigation documentation; advising project teams, landowners, contractors and stakeholders; and ensuring activities comply with relevant wildlife legislation, planning conditions and best-practice guidance. You will contribute to habitat management plans, ecological impact assessments, method statements and monitoring programmes, while maintaining accurate records and clear audit trails. The role may also involve supervising field staff, reviewing technical work, supporting consultation with regulators, and helping to identify opportunities for biodiversity enhancement.

Applicants should hold a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in ecology, wildlife conservation or a related discipline, together with proven experience of protected species survey and assessment. An appropriate approval or licence for relevant species is essential, alongside a sound understanding of applicable legislation, licensing requirements and ecological survey methodologies. Strong report-writing, data interpretation, organisation and communication skills are required, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A full driving licence and willingness to travel are expected. Experience managing subcontractors, coordinating multi-disciplinary projects, using GIS or ecological recording systems, and delivering work to agreed deadlines would be advantageous. The successful applicant will demonstrate sound professional judgement, attention to detail, a commitment to ethical wildlife management and the ability to provide clear, proportionate and evidence-based advice.

We are seeking an Archaeologist II to support cultural resources management and archaeological compliance activities at a large, operational site in the Mojave Desert region. The successful candidate will conduct and oversee archaeological surveys, site inspections, monitoring, testing, and evaluations; identify and document archaeological resources; and assist with determining their eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Duties will include preparing site records, survey reports, treatment plans, technical memoranda, and compliance documentation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

The role will involve coordinating with project managers, environmental specialists, engineers, field crews, tribal representatives, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure that construction, maintenance, and operational activities are carried out in compliance with cultural resources laws and approved management plans. Responsibilities may include reviewing project proposals for archaeological impacts, developing scopes of work and cost estimates, conducting field investigations in challenging desert conditions, monitoring ground-disturbing activities, maintaining cultural resources databases, and using GPS and GIS tools to map and manage site information. The Archaeologist II may also support public outreach, Native American consultation, artifact processing, archival research, and the mentoring of junior staff.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related discipline, along with relevant professional experience conducting archaeological fieldwork and preparing cultural resources documentation. A master’s degree and experience meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards are desirable. Strong knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and applicable archaeological regulations is expected. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment, excellent technical writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The position requires frequent travel to remote field locations, outdoor work in extreme temperatures and uneven terrain, and the ability to obtain any required site access approvals or security credentials.
