We are seeking an Associate Environmental Planner (Archeology) to support the delivery of environmental planning, cultural heritage, and archaeological assessment services for a diverse range of projects. Working with multidisciplinary teams, regulators, consultants, landowners, and community representatives, you will contribute to projects from early feasibility and approvals through to construction and compliance. This role is suited to a motivated professional who combines sound archaeological knowledge with strong environmental planning, communication, and project coordination skills.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing archaeological and cultural heritage assessments, environmental impact documentation, technical reports, due diligence studies, and planning submissions. You will assist with field investigations, desktop research, site inspections, significance assessments, impact evaluations, and the development of mitigation and management measures. You may also coordinate archaeological surveys and investigations, engage with relevant authorities and stakeholders, monitor compliance with approval conditions, and support the preparation of scopes, budgets, programs, and project documentation. The role will involve interpreting applicable legislation, policies, guidelines, and planning instruments, while ensuring work is accurate, practical, and delivered to agreed timeframes.

To be successful, you will have a relevant degree in archaeology, environmental planning, heritage, or a related discipline, together with professional experience in archaeological assessment, cultural heritage management, environmental approvals, or a comparable field. Knowledge of applicable heritage and environmental legislation, planning processes, and industry standards is required. Experience coordinating consultants, field teams, or project deliverables will be highly regarded. You will bring clear written and verbal communication skills, sound research and analytical capability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. A collaborative approach, professional judgement, willingness to undertake fieldwork, and a current driver’s licence are also desirable.
