Key responsibilities will include coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders; managing procurement, contracts, resources, risks, changes and project reporting; and monitoring progress against agreed cost, schedule and performance targets. You will review technical documentation, oversee design development, support planning and approvals, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, environmental requirements and health and safety procedures. The role will also require effective communication with clients and project partners, identification and resolution of technical or commercial issues, and the preparation of regular progress updates for senior management. You may also contribute to business development, tender preparation, project forecasting and the continuous improvement of delivery processes.

This role will provide operational leadership across treatment processes, collection and distribution systems, maintenance activities, regulatory compliance and emergency response. The successful candidate will supervise daily operations, coordinate staffing and work schedules, and ensure that plant performance consistently meets applicable health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include monitoring treatment processes and system performance, reviewing operational data, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions. You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate contractors and service providers, manage chemical usage and inventory, and support capital improvement and infrastructure renewal projects. The role will also be responsible for maintaining accurate operating records, preparing reports, supporting inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with permits, legislation and standard operating procedures. You will promote a strong safety culture, conduct training and performance discussions, and respond effectively to operational incidents, equipment failures and after-hours emergencies.

Applicants should have significant experience in water and/or wastewater treatment operations, including demonstrated supervisory or management experience. A relevant technical qualification, operator certification or equivalent combination of education and practical experience is required; higher-level certification will be considered an asset.
