Job Overview:
We are working with an international OEM to recruit a SCADA Engineer for a contract opportunity focused on Transmission & Distribution (T&D) systems in the wind industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, integration, and maintenance of SCADA systems for wind farm projects, ensuring smooth operation and real-time monitoring of T&D systems from wind turbines to the grid.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems for T&D infrastructure in onshore and offshore wind farms.Perform system integration testing (SIT) to ensure the SCADA system is properly integrated with electrical systems, including substations and grid connections.Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues, focusing on T&D infrastructure and wind farm network performance.Monitor and optimize the performance of SCADA systems to ensure reliable data collection, reporting, and real-time system control.Work closely with project teams, OEMs, and contractors to ensure SCADA systems meet project specifications and industry standards.Develop and maintain technical documentation for SCADA systems, including configuration reports, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance plans.Provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams on SCADA systems for T&D networks.Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, safety procedures, and client specifications.Requirements:

We are working with an international OEM to recruit a skilled Protection and Control Engineer for a contract opportunity focused on Transmission & Distribution (T&D) systems within the wind industry. The successful candidate will work on both onshore and offshore wind farm projects across the UK and Europe, responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems for T&D networks, ensuring safe and efficient power transmission from wind farms to the grid.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and commission protection and control systems for electrical T&D networks in onshore and offshore wind farm projects.Perform fault analysis, ensuring protection schemes comply with industry standards and mitigate risks within T&D systems.Provide technical support for onshore and offshore installations, including substations, transformers, high-voltage cables, and grid connections.Oversee and coordinate the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protection systems for T&D networks.Perform system upgrades and fault investigations, ensuring minimal downtime.Develop and review technical documentation, including reports, manuals, and maintenance guidelines.Collaborate with project teams, OEMs, and contractors to ensure protection and control solutions meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards, regulations, and procedures.Requirements:

We are seeking a skilled SCADA Engineer with a strong background in industrial cybersecurity to support substation automation and grid integration projects across Europe. This hybrid role combines SCADA system engineering with cybersecurity practices to ensure the integrity, availability, and protection of critical grid infrastructure. While most work will be onshore, occasional offshore activities may be required.
Key Responsibilities:Design, configure, and secure SCADA systems for substations across onshore and offshore sites.
Integrate cybersecurity best practices into all phases of SCADA system design, development, and deployment.
Implement and monitor secure communication protocols including IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS), Modbus, DNP3, and OPC UA.
Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments for SCADA and automation systems, identifying potential vulnerabilities.
Support commissioning and site acceptance testing, ensuring systems meet both functional and cybersecurity requirements.
Collaborate closely with Protection & Control, Grid Automation, and Cybersecurity teams to implement secure, compliant solutions.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, cybersecurity policies, and compliance reports.

Key Requirements:Proven experience in SCADA engineering, with exposure to cybersecurity in industrial control systems (ICS).
Deep understanding of SCADA system architecture, RTUs, HMIs, and secure data communication protocols.
Proficiency in IEC 61850 configuration and secure integration methodologies.
Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms (e.g., Grid Automation tools, Siemens WinCC, ABB MicroSCADA).
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001) as applied to OT environments.
