About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading renewable energy organisation delivering innovative Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions across emerging markets. As part of its continued growth strategy, the business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to identify, develop, and secure new opportunities within the renewable energy sector in Mauritius and the wider region.

This is a strategic position for an ambitious commercial professional looking to play a key role in expanding a growing renewable energy portfolio.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, and originating Solar PV and BESS projects from opportunity identification through to commercial close.

The successful candidate will engage with utilities, government authorities, commercial and industrial customers, investors, developers, and key stakeholders to support the company's market expansion strategy.

Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new Solar PV and BESS business opportunities in Mauritius and neighbouring markets.Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, government authorities, project developers, investors, EPC contractors, and C&I clients.Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and contract execution activities.Monitor market trends, policy changes, renewable energy targets, and investment opportunities.Prepare and present commercial proposals, business cases, and tender submissions.Develop strategic partnerships to support long-term business growth.Work collaboratively with engineering, project delivery, and finance teams to develop bankable renewable energy solutions.Support the development of project pipelines and maintain accurate sales forecasts.Represent the business at industry conferences, networking events, and stakeholder meetings.Deliver against revenue and business development targets.RequirementsEssentialBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.Minimum 10 years' professional experience in business development, sales, commercial management, or project development.Minimum 3 years' direct experience within the Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sector.Demonstrable track record of developing and securing renewable energy projects.Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, project development cycles, and commercial structures.Experience engaging with utilities, government bodies, IPPs, developers, investors, and commercial clients.Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.Strong commercial and financial acumen.Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.Willingness to travel as required.DesirablePrevious experience working within Mauritius, the Indian Ocean region, or wider African renewable energy markets.Knowledge of PPAs, EPC contracts, project finance structures, and energy regulations.Existing network within the regional energy and infrastructure sector.Experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.What's on OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on high-profile Solar PV and BESS developments.Significant career progression opportunities within a growing international renewable energy business.Exposure to strategic renewable energy projects supporting the energy transition agenda.Apply
