I'm pleased to announce a new opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Installation Coordinator / Site Manager to join a major hydropower project based in Kyrgyzstan.
This role is ideal for a mechanical professional with strong site supervision experience, excellent technical capability, and the ability to lead day‑to‑day installation activities on a large international project.

Role Overview
A major hydropower project in Kyrgyzstan is seeking an experienced Mechanical Installation Coordinator / Site Manager to lead and supervise mechanical works on-site. This role requires a combined background in mechanical engineering and hands‑on site supervision. You will support two existing supervision staff and take responsibility for day‑to‑day coordination, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely installation of hydropower mechanical systems.
The position involves direct interaction with the client, subcontractors, and technical teams, making strong communication and leadership skills essential.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Installation & Site Supervision
Oversee the installation of mechanical systems including turbines, runners, piping, pumps, auxiliaries, pressure vessels, cooling systems, fire‑fighting systems, HVAC, and broader BOP mechanical works.Carry out precise measurements on turbine runners and critical components to ensure accurate installation.Manage subcontractors, monitor work progress, ensure correct methods are followed, and support lifting operations and site logistics.Supervise pressure testing, alignment checks, pre‑commissioning tasks, and system preparation for commissioning.Engineering & Technical Support
Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, installation procedures, method statements, and QC documentation.Provide on-site problem resolution for mechanical, piping, and BOP-related issues.Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained throughout installation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Oversee quality inspections, punch list resolution, NCR handling, and technical compliance activities.Participate in inspections, FAT processes, and verification of installed components.Monitor and enforce site safety procedures, including lifting safety, LOTO, PTW, confined space, and other HSE protocols.
Coordination & Stakeholder Interface
Act as the primary on-site coordinator working closely with the client, project engineers, commissioning teams, and subcontractors.Attend and lead site meetings, provide progress updates, and ensure alignment between all parties.Support system completion, documentation, and handover to commissioning teams.
Required Experience
10+ years' experience in mechanical installation, piping supervision, or BOP mechanical coordination in hydropower, power plants, nuclear, or industrial projects.Strong technical background in mechanical engineering with substantial on-site installation experience.Experience supervising mechanical works such as piping, pumps, auxiliaries, pressure vessels, HVAC, and BOP systems.Proven ability to manage subcontractors, resolve technical issues, and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams.Familiarity with QA/QC, NCR management, inspections, FATs, and pre‑commissioning.Strong understanding of technical documentation, safety systems, and construction workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Strong ability to read and interpret engineering documentation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong safety mindset with relevant safety training (e.g., work at height, confined space, fire awareness, first aid).English required; Russian is a strong advantage for this project.Ability to live and work full-time on-site in Kyrgyzstan
