We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates for a range of projects. Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams, you will assess project requirements, interpret drawings and specifications, and develop detailed quotations that support successful tender submissions and delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional who can combine strong numerical ability with sound commercial judgement.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing tender documents, bills of quantities, schedules and technical information; obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations; preparing detailed material, labour, plant and subcontract costings; and identifying risks, exclusions, variations and potential opportunities. You will maintain accurate estimating records, contribute to pricing reviews and handover meetings, and ensure estimates are submitted within agreed timescales. The role will also involve liaising with project teams to monitor costs, supporting value-engineering exercises and helping to improve estimating processes and systems.
Applicants should have previous experience in an estimating or commercial role, ideally within construction, engineering, manufacturing or a related industry. You will need the ability to understand technical information, work confidently with spreadsheets and estimating software, and analyse data with a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, together with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A methodical approach, commercial awareness and strong attention to detail are required. Relevant technical or commercial qualifications would be advantageous, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered. In return, you can expect a varied workload, opportunities for professional development and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to high-quality project outcomes.
