We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex water resources and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will manage projects from initial concept and feasibility through detailed design, approvals, construction, and completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities will include defining project scope, preparing programmes and budgets, allocating resources, monitoring performance, and managing risks, issues, and change throughout the project lifecycle.
You will provide technical and commercial leadership across a portfolio of projects involving flood risk management, drainage, surface water, river engineering, catchment planning, water supply, or related infrastructure. The role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, reviewing technical reports and designs, overseeing surveys and investigations, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, environmental requirements, and client specifications. You will also support the preparation of bids, fee proposals, business cases, and technical submissions, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, water resources, environmental engineering, hydrology, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering water resources projects. Professional registration or progress toward chartered status is desirable. Strong knowledge of project management principles, contract administration, risk management, and health and safety requirements is essential. Experience with industry-standard modelling, design, and project management tools will be advantageous. You will be an organised and commercially aware leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, capable of making sound decisions and motivating teams in a collaborative environment.
