We are seeking a Project Manager/Project Engineer – Water Resources to lead and deliver a varied portfolio of water, flood risk and environmental infrastructure projects. This role will suit an experienced water resources professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with effective project coordination, client communication and commercial awareness. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable solutions for public and private sector clients, supporting projects from early feasibility and assessment through to detailed design, consenting and delivery.

Responsibilities will include managing project scope, programmes, budgets, risks and resources; preparing technical reports, specifications, calculations and business cases; undertaking or overseeing hydrological and hydraulic assessments, flood risk studies, drainage strategies and water management plans; and reviewing data, drawings and technical outputs for quality and compliance. You will liaise with clients, regulators, contractors, landowners and other stakeholders, attend site visits and meetings, contribute to tenders and fee proposals, and provide technical guidance to less experienced colleagues. The role may also involve supporting construction-phase activities, monitoring progress and ensuring that projects meet relevant environmental, health and safety and regulatory requirements.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, water resources, hydrology, environmental engineering or a related discipline, with demonstrable experience delivering water resources or flood risk projects. Experience with hydraulic and hydrological modelling software, drainage design, flood mapping, climate resilience or environmental permitting would be advantageous. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to manage competing priorities. Professional registration, or a clear commitment to achieving it, is desirable. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Water Wastewater Engineer to lead the planning, design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will involve managing projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, regulators and internal teams to develop practical, sustainable solutions that meet technical, environmental and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities will include preparing project scopes, programmes, budgets and risk registers; coordinating multidisciplinary design teams; reviewing technical documentation and engineering calculations; managing procurement, contracts, variations and claims; and monitoring project performance against agreed objectives. You will oversee site activities, support construction delivery, resolve technical and commercial issues, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety obligations and quality procedures. The role will also involve contributing to business development, preparing fee proposals and tenders, maintaining strong client relationships, and mentoring less experienced engineers and project staff.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water or wastewater engineering, together with substantial experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Demonstrable project management experience across design, construction or asset improvement programmes is essential, along with a sound understanding of hydraulic principles, treatment processes, pipelines, pumping stations and associated infrastructure. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable. You will need strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Experience using project management, design and document-control systems would be advantageous. A proactive, organised and collaborative approach is essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a complex project environment.
