Job purpose
The PM Backoffice is, next to the PM, the central contact person for the involved Project parties. The PM Back Office is involved since the Project is handed over from the Sales Dep. until it is handed over to the Service Dep.

Key accountabilities

Supports to the Project Manager and team in managing site rentals and services.Is responsible for the administrative organization around the Project, including, tracking of open tasks and preparation of requests to trigger Project-related Purchase Orders Takes care of the Project-related communication with Suppliers and represents the first point of contact for Site personnel. Plays the role of interface with Project PM, Project CPM and Administration

Tasks (During preparation phase):

Experience and qualifications

At least 3 years of professional experience in office organization, supply chain and/or procurementExperience in working within the wind industry, similar sectors (e.g. renewable energies, OEM) or construction environments is considered a plusProficient in written and spoken French and English (at least B2 is required)Strong computer skills, MS-OfficeSAP knowledge is considered a plus

Our client, a leading global wind turbine manufacturer, is seeking experienced Main Component Upgrade (MCU) Technicians to support major component replacement and uptower repair activities across multiple wind farms throughout Australia. This is an urgent requirement for two freelance contractors on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension based on project requirements and individual performance.

The positions available are:

Mechanical MCU Technician
Electrical MCU Technician

This is a travelling role operating across wind farms nationwide on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off roster. Preference will be given to Australian and New Zealand citizens with the appropriate right to work in Australia. The role requirements, roster and scope are consistent with current Australian Main Component Exchange project work being conducted by a major OEM.

Key Responsibilities

Execute major component replacement and uptower repair activities on utility-scale wind turbines.Work within small specialist teams during the delivery of component exchange projects.Participate in large crane operations associated with major component replacements.Inspect major turbine components to verify condition, configuration and suitability for installation.Ensure the correct tools, consumables and spare parts are available before project execution.Follow OEM manuals, technical bulletins, specifications and work instructions.Complete inspection reports and project documentation accurately.Maintain compliance with site safety rules, permit systems, LOTO procedures and EHS standards.Escalate technical issues and liaise with engineering and project teams where required.Participate in weekend and out-of-hours work when project demands require.Perform high-voltage switching activities where authorised and required.Support a strong safety culture through reporting of incidents, hazards and near misses.

Requirements

Mechanical MCU Technician:

Mechanical trade qualification.Strong knowledge of turbine mechanical systems.Experience performing major component replacements and heavy lift activities.Proven fault-finding ability on mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Electrical MCU Technician:

Electrical trade qualification.Valid Australian electrical licence.Strong mechanical aptitude.Experience with turbine electrical systems and major component exchange activities.Ability to perform electrical fault-finding and high-voltage switching activities where authorised.

Essential Experience

Minimum 2-3 years' experience specifically within Main Component Exchange (MCE), Main Component Upgrade (MCU) or major turbine repair projects.Experience must include major component works rather than routine O&M activities.Strong understanding of wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.Experience working on large-scale wind farm construction, installation or major corrective maintenance projects.Intermediate computer literacy.Ability to travel extensively across Australia on a 3:1 roster.

Highly Desirable

GWO and GWO Advanced Rescue Training certifications.
Dogging, Rigging and Franna Crane tickets.
Experience coordinating heavy lift operations.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in remote locations.
