We are seeking an Engineer in Training, Water Conveyance, to support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of water conveyance infrastructure. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to projects involving pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, canals, water treatment connections, and related hydraulic systems. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical engineering experience while progressing toward professional registration.
Your responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation. You will assist with hydraulic modelling, system assessments, condition inspections, feasibility studies, design reviews, and construction support. The role will also involve coordinating with internal teams, contractors, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders; attending site visits; reviewing contractor submissions; monitoring progress and quality; and helping identify and resolve technical issues. You will be expected to maintain accurate records, follow applicable safety and environmental requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery and asset performance.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, with relevant coursework or interest in hydraulics, fluid mechanics, water resources, or infrastructure design. Eligibility for, or progress toward, professional engineering registration is desirable. Previous internship, co-op, graduate, or site experience in water, utilities, construction, or consulting will be beneficial. You should have strong analytical, communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities. Familiarity with engineering software, hydraulic modelling tools, CAD, spreadsheets, and technical reporting is advantageous. A willingness to learn, travel occasionally to project sites, and work safely in office and field environments is essential.

We are seeking an Engineer in Training to support the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and conveyance infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of experienced professional engineers, you will contribute to projects involving pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment systems, storage facilities, drainage networks, and related municipal infrastructure. This is an opportunity to develop your technical skills while gaining exposure to projects from early concept and feasibility through detailed design, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
Key responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical memoranda, design drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and reports; assisting with hydraulic modelling and system evaluations; reviewing survey information, geotechnical data, and existing infrastructure records; and supporting site investigations, condition assessments, construction inspections, and field observations. You may also assist with tender documentation, contractor questions, submittal reviews, progress meetings, and coordination with clients, regulatory agencies, utility providers, and multidisciplinary project teams. Maintaining accurate project records and applying relevant codes, standards, and health and safety procedures will be essential.
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or a closely related engineering discipline and be eligible for, or actively pursuing, professional engineering registration. Previous internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in water, wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or civil engineering is an asset. Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn are important. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydraulic modelling software, GIS, or other engineering tools is beneficial. Occasional travel to project sites and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions may be required.
