Hydro Mechanical and HSS Expert - Pumped Storage Hydropower - Romania
For major Pumped Storage Hydropower Project in Romania my client is seeking a Hydro Mechanical and HSS Expert.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Experience in hydropower and pump hydropower storage projects, contributing to the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and testing of hydraulic steel structures (HSS), hydro-mechanical equipment, and penstocks. Capability to provide solutions and systems based on European standard operational/technical specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage consignment documents for hydro-mechanical, penstock, and steel lining equipment and review supplier data and drawings as needed.
- Develop maintenance and testing procedures for all hydro mechanical equipment to be provided for the project.
- Provide construction support by reviewing RFIs, issuing field directives, conducting observations, and assessing change requests.
- Create design documentation in both written and CAD formats to meet project needs.
- Use engineering software to develop 2D and 3D drawings, following established standards.
- Ensure the quality and compliance of hydro-mechanical project deliverables with planning and budget.
- Oversee the design and construction cycle from feasibility to installation.
- Perform analytical and finite element calculations for hydro-mechanical subsystems and facilitate design reviews.
- Supervise electro-hydro mechanical installations until commissioning.
- Collaborate with designers on CAD and drawing development.
- Set technical specifications for outsourced components and support manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical Engineering degree with significant experience in the hydro-mechanical design of large metal structures in hydropower projects
- Significant experience in structural calculations (analytical and FEA)
- Experience in designing Electro-Mechanical or Oil-Hydraulic control devices is a plus.
- Knowledge about Hydro-Mechanical equipment and structural design standards (Eurocode) and Hydro-Mechanical equipment (DIN-19704) is a plus.
- 15+ years of proven experience with a hydro mechanical background in hydropower plant design and construction
- Experience with contractual requirements and international standards (ISO, NBR 8883, ASTM, EN) for the Hydro-Mechanical equipment and penstock
- Desired Computer/Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), CAD, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, in particular, AutoCAD, MEP, and Revit MEP
SALARY PACKAGE
- Upto 10,000 USD Per Month
